Smartling dashboards help customers track translation metrics, including word counts, phrases, and bundles. Key modules include domains, in-progress work, user engagement, production levels, and file type handling.
The objective of this project was to design a clean, user-friendly interface tailored to user needs. I created three design variations focused on quick data consumption while presenting rich, informative content effectively.
Smartling’s translation tools provide users with robust methods to manage large volumes of content. The “In-progress” view gives a quick overview of translated words, phrases, and bundles, along with associated tasks and modules to optimize the user experience.
My first task was to design these workflows from the ground up, conducting research to understand real user needs and identify features that added little value. Through iterative design, user feedback shaped the final experience, ensuring the interface was both functional and intuitive.
Smartling was experimenting with translation options ranging from full-service to “On Demand,” the latter offering a simplified, express workflow for users who needed quick translations without advanced features.
The goal of this project was to design a 4–5 screen workflow that was as simple and intuitive as ordering coffee from a favorite app, delivering a streamlined experience without upselling or optional add-ons.
